Event Description
Wilmington University to Compete in the 2010 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition
The College of Technology is forming a team of students to compete in the qualifying round to be held on January 25th. For this round, each team will compete remotely from their home campus via VPN. The completion will last for three hours.
We are looking for a collection of full time students (twelve credits or more for the Spring semester) with expertise in any of the following areas:
- Windows Server
- Linux
- Backtrack
- Wireshark
- VMware
Nobody has to be an expert in everything. We are looking for six to eight students that collectively have expertise in all of the above. Even if you are not an expert, get involved. Learn. This is just the first of many cyber defense competitions WU will be involved with.
This is an exciting opportunity for all concerned. By participating, you’ll be raising the visibility of the state of Delaware and Wilmington University as national resources in cyber defense. For yourself, you’ll be making yourself visible to hiring managers inside various agencies of the federal government and their cyber security partners. It’s a lot more than just a line item on your resume. If you have any doubt, ask the 2009 New Castle DC3 team what happened when they shocked everybody and won!
Please contact Mark Hufe at your earliest opportunity to express your interest. Mr. Hufe can be reached at mark.j.hufe@wilmu.edu or 302-356-6869. |
