Biography

Dr. Esosa Iriowen is a dedicated educator, administrator, and community leader with over twelve years of comprehensive experience in scientific research, academia, and administrative roles within higher education and the community. Throughout his career, Dr. Iriowen has demonstrated a proven track record in leadership and administration, with a focus on emphasizing student success, fostering community relations and growth, and enhancing institutional research and effectiveness.

Before becoming the current Chair of the Natural Science Program at Wilmington University, Dr. Iriowen has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape of the institution. He initially joined the university as an Adjunct instructor and gradually ascended to the position of Adjunct Science Program Coordinator. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Iriowen has taught classes in Chemistry, Physics, Data Science, and Environmental sciences, imparting his knowledge and expertise to students across various disciplines.

Dr. Iriowen's academic journey spans three continents, with academic learning experiences in Africa, Europe, and North America. His scholarly contributions are evident through numerous scientific publications, including recent works published in esteemed journals such as Elsevier, the Journal of Applied Science, and Environmental Management, and the Journal of the American Institute of Chemists. As a Fellow of The American Institute of Chemists and a Life Member of The Gamma Sigma Epsilon (Chemistry Honors Society), Dr. Iriowen's professional accolades underscore his prominence as an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of chemistry and geosciences.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Iriowen has been actively engaged in various leadership roles and community service initiatives. He has served on numerous boards in education, energy, and community leadership, demonstrating a commitment to fostering positive change within his community and beyond. Dr. Iriowen's contributions extend to the international stage, where he has served as an International Conference Chair, Conference Judge, and Editorial Scientific Peer-Reviewer, showcasing his dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and collaboration globally.
