The Associate of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership will prepare students for successful leadership in project management, staff management, and administrative positions. It will also serve as a pathway for students to pursue a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership, Business Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, and Law, Policy, and Political Science.
1. The student will recognize and apply oral and written communication skills used in different areas of the business environment, including crafting emails, reports, and presentations that convey clear and concise information.
2. The student will recognize leadership practices and apply cultural humility in a diverse and multicultural environment, ensuring that they understand how to lead teams with respect and inclusivity.
3. The student will express analytical thinking and adaptability to solve complex financial problems, making informed decisions that align with financial theories, accounting standards, and real-world industry challenges.
4. The student will understand and demonstrate basic information literacy by using valid and reliable sources to gather and present business-related research in written and verbal formats.
5. The student will describe ethical principles with a global perspective, for decision-making processes in the accounting and finance professions, while fostering personal integrity and professional responsibility in a diverse and culturally dynamic business world.
The program includes a wide variety of general education courses that would be applicable to any undergraduate degree within the University, and comprehensive business coursework which includes management and innovative leadership and integrates social science, leadership psychology, workplace culture, and trauma-informed approaches.
