Biography
Lauren Brown, DNP, CRNA, is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with over 10 years of clinical experience and more than seven years of experience in nurse anesthesia education. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Wilmington University’s Nurse Anesthesiology Program and practices clinically at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital. Her previous clinical experience includes working in the cardiothoracic division at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
Dr. Brown earned her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and her DNP from Duke University. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes connecting didactic concepts to clinical practice, promoting critical thinking, and using real-world clinical experiences to enhance student learning.
Dr. Brown is an experienced speaker and educator who has presented anesthesia-related topics at both local and national conferences and educational events. Her presentations frequently focus on pediatric anesthesia management, including the unique physiologic, pharmacologic, and airway considerations involved in caring for pediatric patients.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Brown is involved with Arete Medical Devices, a company focused on developing innovative solutions to challenges in airway management. She has contributed to the development of an innovative oral airway that integrates oxygen delivery, end-tidal CO₂ monitoring and suction capabilities. This work reflects her interest in translating clinical challenges into practical, innovative solutions that improve efficiency, patient safety, and the delivery of care.
