Biography
Dr. Drews is the MSN Chair within the College of Health Professions at Wilmington University. Dr. Drews is an Associate Professor who has taught in the graduate and undergraduate courses with the RN to BSN program. She earned her Diploma in Nursing from St. Francis School of Nursing and her B.S. in Nursing from New Jersey City University. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing in Nurse Leadership from Wilmington University. Dr. Drews earned her Doctorate of Higher Education Leadership from Wilmington University. The focus of her doctoral work was in curriculum development, online education, course design and end of life education, the research study was titled, “Case Study: Design and Delivery of a New University Course in a Holistic Palliative and End of Life Care Certificate Program”.
Dr. Drews is a Certified Educator through the National League for Nursing (NLN). She is a member of the NLN, Sigma Theta Tau, American Nurses Association, Delaware Nursing Association, Delaware Valley National Professional Development Organization and EAB. She has held numerous positions in Wilmington University’s Omicron Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, she is also a member of the Delaware Medical Reserve Advisory Committee and a guest speaker for the American Heart Association. Dr. Drews is a member of the Human Trafficking and has presented numerous presentations on the “Role of the Health Care Provider in Human Trafficking”. Dr. Drews conducts peer reviews for the Journal of Nursing Education, The Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing and Nurse Education Today. Dr. Drews has also conducted nursing textbook reviews for Sage Publishers, Jones and Bartlett Learning.
