Biography

Dr. Michael Curry attended the University of Delaware and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education.  He started his career at Cape Henlopen High School where he taught 9-12 English with a focus on Advanced Placement Literature and Composition and University of Delaware’s English 110 Dual Enrollment course.  In his final year, he served as department chair and led a team of teachers in the department’s first work to write a grades 6-12 vertically articulated curriculum. 

Dr. Curry earned his graduate degree from Wilmington University in Instruction: Gifted and Talented education where his research focused on gifted underachievers.  He earned his Doctorate from Wilmington University in Organizational Learning, Leadership, and Innovation and successfully defended his dissertation titled Does Course Format Impact Student Learning: A Causal Comparative Study of Online, Hybrid, and Face-to-Face Student Learning Outcomes in an Undergraduate Teacher Preparation Course.

Since 2013, Dr. Curry has served as a Program Chair, first overseeing all education programs in the Bachelor of Science program, and he now serves as the Program Chair for undergraduate and graduate Secondary Education and holds the academic rank of Associate Professor.
