Candidates must meet the requirements on these Praxis Subject Assessments according to the State of Delaware guidelines in order to earn teacher certification.

Multiple Measures is a pathway to certification for candidates who miss the required Praxis exam by a small margin, but who have completed all other requirements.
- Anyone who has completed an educator preparation or an alternative routes program and has taken an applicable exam but has not been licensed or certified may be eligible.
- Old exam scores may still be acceptable, even if taken years ago.
- Determine if you are eligible for Multiple Measures.
When am I required to take and pass my Praxis?
Below are the Praxis II deadlines for Wilmington University educator preparation programs.
Test takers should designate Wilmington University and the Delaware Department of Education as score recipients. This enables scores to be sent directly, confidentially and electronically to Wilmington University and the Delaware Department of Education.

M.A. in Secondary Teaching (6-12)
Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities K-12 (Traditional Route)Candidates must attempt Praxis II (program and content specific) prior to enrollment in Practicum III.
Candidates must pass or meet the Multiple Measures qualifying score prior to placement for Student Teaching/Internship. -
Special Education Teacher (Alternative route - ARTC)
Paraeducator to Special Education Teacher K-12 (Alternative Route - ARTC)To pass Seminar, candidates must show that they have attempted Praxis II (Content).
Candidates must pass Praxis II (5354) prior to program completion. -
M.Ed. in Reading
Candidates must pass Praxis II (5302) prior to receiving a grade in MRD 7970.

M.Ed. in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling
Candidates must pass Praxis II (5422) prior to the completion of the first internship.

M.Ed. in School Leadership
Candidates must pass Praxis II (6990) prior to the completion of MED 8900 and MED 8904/8905.

Ed.D. in Educational Leadership
Candidates must pass Praxis II (6990 or 6991) prior to December 1 in Year Two of their program.
Registration
Candidates can register for the Praxis tests on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) website . They can take the tests wherever there is a testing location that administers them.
When registering for a test, candidates must designate Wilmington University as a score recipient.
