Turnitin Draft Coach Student Access
Students can access Turnitin's Draft Coach directly within their Microsoft Office 365 Word documents via the Word web app. Draft Coach offers a suite of powerful features aimed at enhancing the writing process. Below are directions on how to access this tool.
- Log in to your MyWilmU portal.
- Find and select My Email to open Outlook on the web.
- Click the waffle icon at the top-left corner of your browser window.
- Click the blue W icon labeled Word in the pop out menu options, which may open in a new tab.
- Select the document or paper you are currently drafting to open the paper in a new tab.
- Once opened, navigate to the final tab labeled Turnitin. While this tab is selected (noted by bold and underline), notice Draft Coach becomes a selection.
- Clicking into Draft Coach, a new window on the right side will slide open with a prompt to receive feedback. Click the Get Feedback Now button.
- A new window will appear to prompt you to Pick an Account from a possible list of Microsoft accounts. Select your Wilmington University account; if your account is not listed, select Use another account and log in using your WilmU credentials.
- The right side will now have several different options to select:
- Similarity Check, which reviews your work to help with unintentional plagiarism,
- Citations Check, which reviews if your citations are missing references or if your references are missing citations and then helps match citations and references in your document, and
- Grammar Guide, which highlights grammatical mistakes and provides you suggestions on how to correct them
