This app enables students to subscribe to push notifications. Please be aware that on January 16, 2021, there were some changes to Push notifications in Canvas Details about each notification type can be found in the Canvas Notifications PDF

Effective July 31, 2021, Canvas will no longer support SMS notifications (text messages) for announcements and grades. Canvas encourages users that previously subscribed to SMS notifications to download the mobile app and enable push notifications for announcements and/or grades.

How to Install the Canvas Apps

1. From your mobile device's app store, search "Canvas Student" or "Canvas Teacher"
2. In the school name field, type "Wilmington University" or type this URL * exactly as stated below:
   https://wilmu.instructure.com
   
   *Be sure to include the special characters (colon, forward slashes, and periods). Without these special characters, it will not allow you to login.
3. Login with your myWilmU username (email address) and password on the myWilmU login page.

How Should I Use the Canvas Student App?

You can do a lot on the Canvas Student app, but some things work better than others.

Course activities you should and should not do via the Canvas Student mobile app.

DO	DON’T
Checking Course Content, Grades, and Calendars: Use the app to easily stay on top of what you need to do!	Quizzes: The app doesn't display all question types, best to use your computer for quizzes!
Notifications: Enable notifications to be the first to see class announcements and added assignments!	Submitting Assignments: Submitting on the app isn't always reliable. Best to use your computer to turn things in!
Discussion Boards: Easily read and answer discussion posts in the app!	Outside Apps: Programs like Voicethread might require downloading an additional app to function. Try it on your computer if you don't have the space.
Talk to Text: You can use the talk to text feature on your device within the Canvas app.
