Web Browser Issues with Canvas

If Canvas is not working properly on your computer, it is likely because of the web browser that you are using is not supported, or does not support a particular feature or function in Canvas.

Specifically, if you use an unsupported browser such as Internet Explorer or select versions of Safari, the Canvas system may not load up properly.

For best performance, Canvas should be used on the current or first-previous major release of:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Edge

These are all free downloads and most computers already have at least one of them installed. Visit the Canvas Browser Support Page to learn more about supported browsers.

Note: Safari 13.1 and later versions contain an update that may cause issues with displaying images and downloading files in Canvas. Canvas engineers are currently working on a solution for this issue.
