On Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, Kaltura was upgraded, streamlining accessibility exclusively through the Canvas Global navigation menu, a departure from previous access through course menus in Canvas. With this upgrade comes an improved user experience, along with the release of new user guides and tutorial videos. Upgrade details:
- The upgrade was completed at 9:30 a.m. eastern standard time.
- My Media will now be found on the global navigation on the left-hand side of Canvas, instead of the course menu. All other aspects of Kaltura will remain unchanged and function the same.

Kaltura Video Recording Retention
Kaltura videos remain accessible for a minimum of 18 months. If a Kaltura video remains unviewed throughout this timeframe, it is flagged for deletion. One month prior to potential deletion, the video owner receives an email notification. They have the option to request preservation beyond the 18-month threshold. If no such request is made, the video is automatically deleted at the conclusion of the 30-day window following the 18-month mark.Video Tutorials for Using Kaltura
