Wilmington University offers the following options for self-motivated, self-directed students to enroll in courses with limited on-location meetings.

Hybrid Courses are a combination of traditional classroom instruction with up to 75 percent of instruction held in a synchronous and/or asynchronous online environment.

They may be offered as either semester or block classes.

Internet access is required, and very convenient Internet access is recommended.

Hybrid courses typically begin with an on-location class meeting (day and time as published in the course listing) to discuss the class meeting schedule and course outline.

Books can be purchased in the Campus Store at your College location, or by any method you choose. To find which textbooks are required for your course, go to the Campus Store's web page to view the list of textbooks required for each course.

Online Courses

Wilmington University offers the following options for self-motivated, self-directed students to enroll in courses with no on-location meetings . Tuition for all online courses is billed at the New Castle tuition rate.

Online Courses are courses where all learning activities are conducted using the Internet. There will be no on-location meetings with the instructor or other students enrolled in the course.

Internet access is required, and very convenient Internet access is recommended.

Access your online courses through Canvas.

Online Courses begin on the first Monday of the block or semester. Online students are expected to participate 3-5 days per week. The actual time of day is up to the student.
Students enrolled in an Online Course must find and order textbooks at Wilmington University's Online Campus Store.

Flexible Courses

Wilmington University offers the following flexible options for students seeking an engaging online experience and desiring to actively participate in class discussions, lectures, and projects. The class will still meet each week in a campus classroom. Faculty will share their in-class teaching and discussions via live synchronous webinar. This opportunity provides students an option to attend on location or via the webinar for each class session.

Flexible Courses are courses that allow the student to attend class face-to-face or synchronously online.

  • Reliable internet access is required
  • A USB microphone or headset
  • A webcam

Access the synchronous portion through Canvas.

Flexible courses meet every week with an on-location class meeting (day and time as published in the course listing).
